Gail B. Brenner, Au.D.

Doctor of Audiology
Board Certified Board Certified in Audiology

Dr. Gail Brenner has devoted her 43 year professional career to improving the quality of life of others with hearing loss and other auditory disorders particularly those who suffer from intrusive tinnitus.

Since 1981, Dr. Brenner has provided diagnostic testing, hearing aid dispensing, consulting in the music industry, and clinical services to patients.  In 1993 she established a private audiology practice, Hearing Technology Associates LLC. Additionally in the same year, due to the growing need for evaluation and treatment of intrusive tinnitus, she established the Tinnitus & Sound Sensitivity Treatment Center of Philadelphia, PC.

Prior to private practice, Dr. Brenner spent several years on staff at highly regarded medical centers including the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and Philadelphia Elwyn.

Dr. Brenner’s specialty has been Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT). She received her initial training in 1994 from the world-renowned Neuroscientist Dr. Pawel Jastreboff at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He developed the Neurophysiological Model of Tinnitus, which became the protocol for TRT.  Dr. Brenner has since attended many continuing education courses from Dr. Jastreboff, as well as attended numerous international tinnitus conferences.

In the spring of 2023, she was selected by Neurmod Devices to be in the first group of tinnitus specialists to be trained to offer the Lenire Bimodal Neurmodulation Tinnitus Treatment Device to soothe tinnitus symptoms. Only these 15 tinnitus specialists from the United States were invited to Dublin for training on this new evidence-based FDA-approved treatment device.

Dr. Brenner received her clinical doctorate degree in Audiology from the University of Florida in 2001 and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology. She has lectured nationally and internationally on all aspects of hearing, hearing aids, and tinnitus. She has taught the tinnitus course to doctoral-level audiologists and currently teaches the Audiologic Perspective of Tinnitus to resident ENT physicians.

Dr. Brenner is licensed in Pennsylvania. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology.  She is certified by the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is Board Certified by the American Board of Audiology.
